There’s been a recent trend called #teamKahoy or team wood for those who want to refurbish their home. It’s a trend where homeowners buy new furniture made from wood or repurpose their old furniture and add wood elements to it.
There are a lot of different types of woods used for furniture making. Here are some of the more popular choices:
MAPLE WOOD
Maple is the ideal wooden material for furniture. They are very durable, and it wears well. Maple wood is also non-toxic, which makes it perfect for kitchen cutting boards. It’s strong and water-resistant.
MAHOGANY WOOD
Mahogany is a traditional choice in furniture making. Mahogany is lighter in weight compared to other types, but it’s as strong as other woods as well. Builders usually prefer Mahogany because of how easy it is to work with, plus it’s resistant to bug infestation, stains, and water damage.

Narra is one of the hardest and more popular materials, especially here in the Philippines. It’s the ideal material for furniture making because of its durability and resistance to pests.
